a little history
In September of 1990, Pastors Cedric & Joyce Oliver began to carry out the call which God had placed on their lives. After receiving their ordination by Dr. Myles Munroe of Third World Believers Ministries in Nassau, Bahamas, Pastors Cedric and Joyce Oliver founded Embassies of Christ (E.O.C.) in October of 1990.
With only 12 members at the time and a vision, The E.O.C. Pastors remained committed to restoring the city of Gary through the gospel. Today, with a host of followers, the pastors are retaking the city while redirecting it’s wealth to those who are in need.
Pastor Cedric Oliver
Pastor Cedric Oliver was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. After graduating from Lew Wallace High School, he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. After earning a masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Pastor Cedric Oliver worked for Inland Steel for over 19 years as a manager until he was called to full time ministry.
Pastor JOYCE Oliver
Pastor Joyce Oliver was also born and raised in Gary, Indiana. Pastor Joyce received a full scholarship from the University of Southern California for Fine Arts. She later transferred to Indiana University where she earned a degree in Nursing. Pastor Joyce's nursing career at Methodist Hospital and Mercy Hospital lasted for over 10 years.
Both pastors attended Moody Bible Institute. Pastors Cedric and Joyce taught youth for 6 years before the Lord called them to ministry.
